American Standard Kitchen Remodeling: The Dallas Owner’s Guide

A full American Standard kitchen remodel in Dallas typically runs $14,000 to $45,000 installed, with smaller refreshes landing between $9,000 and $20,000. We stock American Standard-compatible cabinetry hardware, faucet cartridges, sink mounting kits, and finish trims, and we can match most replacement parts to your model on the first visit. Most Dallas homeowners discover the problem when a faucet starts dripping from the base, a cabinet hinge shears mid-close, or a sink basket won’t seal after years of hard water buildup.

What usually tips the scale is a slow leak under the sink or a drawer face that pops loose from its slide because the original mounting screws stripped out of the particleboard. If you’re standing in a Dallas kitchen with a puddle under the cabinet and a American Standard box in the garage, here’s what you need to know before you spend a dollar. Mason Remodeling Co Dallas is an independent service provider, not affiliated with American Standard. We fix what we see, name the price in writing, and don’t start until you say go.

Which American Standard Models This Applies To

New painted shaker cabinets with an organized deep drawer

American Standard kitchen lines in Dallas homes run the range from budget-minded Colony and Reliant faucets to mid-tier Studio and Pekoe pull-downs, plus the Town Square and Portsmouth sink series. The gotcha most owners hit is cartridge compatibility. A Colony faucet cartridge won’t fit a Studio faucet, even if both are single-handle and look nearly identical from the countertop. Before you order any part online, pull the faucet head down and look at the base of the spout or under the handle for a stamped model number, usually starting with a letter and four digits.

For sinks, the real divider is material and mount type. American Standard makes stainless, cast iron, and fireclay sinks, and the mounting hardware differs for top-mount, under-mount, and flush-mount installations. A fireclay farmhouse sink in an older M Streets bungalow needs a different support frame than a 16-gauge stainless under-mount in a Frisco new build. We treat OEM American Standard parts as the default when they’re available and the faucet is under ten years old. For older models where the OEM part is discontinued, we use quality aftermarket equivalents, but we tell you the brand and the spec before we install it, never after. Your American Standard model label is on the underside of the sink bowl or taped inside the cabinet door frame in about half the kitchens we open.

Signs Your American Standard Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

  • Puddle at the faucet base every time you run water. The O-ring seals inside the body have flattened from years of hard water mineral buildup and heat cycling. Replacing the cartridge and seats solves it, but ignore it and water seeps into the cabinet deck and rots the particleboard.
  • Handle goes from firm to loose over a few weeks. The retaining nut inside the handle assembly has backed off or the plastic index ring cracked. Tightening only buys a month. The internals need a reset or a cartridge swap.
  • Sink basket won’t hold water even after you tighten it. The strainer flange underneath has warped or the putty bead finally let go. This is the most common American Standard sink failure we see in Dallas, especially in homes where the water is hard and the previous install skipped the bead.
  • Drawer front sags or pops off one side when you open it. The original slide screws stripped out of the cabinet box. The fix is not a longer screw. It’s a repair plate behind the slide, and it’s a 20-minute job if we catch it before the face splits.
  • Cabinet hinge binds and the door no longer sits flush. Heat and humidity in Dallas swing the wood, and the hinge’s tension adjustment has walked. If the hinge arm is bent or the cup is cracked, a cheap replacement gets you back to flush. If the frame’s torn out, you need a hinge plate, which we keep on the truck.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A small remodeled galley kitchen with cabinets to the ceiling

A partial American Standard kitchen refresh in Dallas, faucet swap, sink basket, a hinge and slide tune-up, runs $2,000 to $4,500 installed. A full remodel with new cabinetry, American Standard fixtures, countertops, and a new sink configuration lands in the $14,000 to $45,000 range, depending on cabinet line, counter surface, and whether we’re moving plumbing or electrical. Small cosmetic updates in a galley kitchen often fall between $9,000 and $20,000. Cabinet installation alone runs $4,000 to $13,000, countertops $2,000 to $6,500, and a backsplash adds $800 to $2,500.

Every Mason Remodeling Co Dallas estimate is a written price, not a ballpark number spoken over the phone. You know the cost before we unload a tool. That written price includes parts, labor, haul-away of the old fixtures, and a written guarantee for 365 days from the completion date. If something we touched fails within that year, we come back at no charge. No restocking games, no surprise invoices on the final walkthrough. Isaac Pruett has walked enough Dallas remodels to know that the number that matters is the one that doesn’t change after the demo starts.

DIY or Call Us?

You can check a few things before you pick up the phone. Turn off the water under the sink and see if the faucet handle still wobbles. If it does, the problem is inside the valve body, not a loose mount. Pull the sink basket strainer and look at the putty bead. If it’s dried out and crumbling, that’s your leak. But if the faucet body itself is weeping from the seam, or the cabinet frame has torn out behind the hinge, you’re past a homeowner repair. A faucet that leaks inside the wall or under the cabinet deck will destroy a Dallas cabinet box in a summer.

We’ve seen a homeowner replace a faucet on a Saturday morning, miss the deck gasket, and call us three weeks later with a swollen cabinet floor and a $900 repair. No faucet is worth that. If you’re not certain, call (432) 302-8761 and describe what you see. We’ll give you a straight answer and a written price before anything gets touched.
