Delta Driveway & Pavers: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
If your Delta paver driveway is shifting, cracking, or draining poorly, we stock the pavers, edge restraints, joint sand, and base materials to match your existing layout, and we install them for $3,500 to $18,000 depending on the scope. Most Delta paver repairs in Dallas are completed in one to two days once we have eyes on the site. You’ll usually notice the problem after a heavy rain when a low spot turns into a puddle, or when a paver rocks underfoot near the garage apron.
We’re an independent Dallas contractor, not affiliated with Delta, but we work with their paver profiles and joint systems regularly. Our crews carry Delta-compatible edge restraints, polymeric sand, and replacement pavers on the truck for the most common Dallas patterns. Before you assume the whole driveway needs tearing out, let’s walk through what actually fails and what it costs to fix.
Which Delta Models This Applies To

Delta’s paver lineup runs through three main families: their tumbled concrete pavers, their larger-format slab pavers, and their permeable pavers built for drainage. The tumbled line is what we see most often in Dallas driveways, usually in a 6″ x 9″ or 6″ x 6″ module with a cobbled edge profile. The slab pavers run 12″ x 12″ and up, and they’re the ones that crack when a base layer settles unevenly.
You can identify your paver by flipping one over. Delta stamps a lot number and sometimes a series code on the underside of the paver, though older installations may have worn it away. If the stamp is gone, measure the paver face and check the edge profile. Here’s the compatibility gotcha most owners hit: Delta’s tumbled pavers are not modular with their slab line, meaning you can’t mix a 6″ x 9″ replacement into a 12″ x 12″ field without cutting and creating a visible seam. We always order from the same series, and when the original series is discontinued, we match by dimension, color blend, and surface texture rather than forcing a mismatched paver into the pattern.
For OEM versus aftermarket, the honest answer is that Delta pavers don’t have a meaningful “OEM parts” market the way appliances do. What matters is dimensional match and color blend. Quality aftermarket pavers from manufacturers like Belgard, Unilock, and Techo-Bloc can match Delta profiles closely, and we carry those lines through our supplier partnerships. The real parts that fail on a paver driveway are the edge restraints and the joint sand, and those we replace with commercial-grade products regardless of what the original installer used.

Signs Your Delta Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Pavers rocking underfoot near the garage apron or along the street edge. This almost always means the edge restraint has pulled loose or was never installed deep enough. The pavers migrate outward, and the outer course loses its lock. We see this constantly in Dallas clay soil, which expands and contracts with moisture far more than the sandy soils most paver installation guides assume.
- A low spot forms after rain and holds water for more than a few hours. Water pooling means the base layer under that section has settled or washed out. In Dallas, this usually traces to a downspout dumping water against the driveway edge or a broken irrigation line saturating the sub-base. Fixing the paver won’t help until the water source is addressed.
- Joint sand washes out of the seams every time it storms. If you can see gaps opening between pavers and the sand is migrating downhill or into the street, the sand has lost its binder or the slope is too aggressive for a standard joint fill. We switch these to polymeric sand with a higher binder content, and we re-grade the slope if it’s pushing water across the paver face too fast.
- Cracks running through individual pavers, especially the larger 12″ x 12″ slabs. A cracked paver is a symptom, not the disease. Something under that paver is moving: a void in the base, a root pushing up, or a vehicle load the base wasn’t compacted to handle. You can replace the cracked paver, but if the base isn’t addressed, the replacement cracks the same way within a season.
- The outer edge of the driveway is spreading and the border course is pulling away from the field. Edge restraint failure. Once the border breaks loose, the entire field loses compression and pavers start walking. This is the most common failure we repair on Dallas driveways, and it’s usually fixable without tearing out the center of the driveway.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Paver driveway repair and replacement in Dallas runs from $3,500 for a partial repair with new base in a limited area up to $18,000 for a full tear-out and rebuild of a standard two-car driveway. Most Dallas jobs we quote land between $7,000 and $12,000, which covers removing the old pavers, re-grading and compacting a new base, reinstalling pavers with new edge restraints, and filling joints with polymeric sand.
What drives the range is square footage, access, and what we find under the existing pavers. A driveway with a proper 6″ compacted base and only surface issues is a faster job than one where the base was never compacted and the pavers are sitting on Dallas’s expansive clay. We give you a written price before any work starts, and that price includes labor, materials, haul-off of old base and pavers, and a written guarantee. Our 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the installation for a full year from completion: if the pavers shift, the edge fails, or the sand washes out within that year, we return and make it right at no charge to you.
DIY or Call Us?
Replacing a paver driveway section involves compacted base, grade control, and edge restraint that holds the whole system in tension. It’s not inherently dangerous the way a high-tension garage spring is, but a DIY repair that ignores the base is wasted money. You can safely check whether your edge restraint is still buried at the driveway perimeter and whether water is ponding after a rain, and you can sweep joint sand back into seams that have opened. Those checks help us diagnose faster when we arrive.
Where DIY goes sideways is when an owner pulls up a low section, adds a bag of paver sand from the hardware store, and lays the pavers back down without compacting. Within six months in Dallas, that patch settles again and the pavers around it start walking. If you want a repair that lasts through a Texas summer and a wet winter, call us at (432) 302-8761 and we’ll come out, look at the base, and give you a written price. The estimate is free and there’s no pressure to book.
FAQs

A properly installed paver driveway with a compacted base should last 20 to 30 years in the Dallas climate, though you can expect to refresh the joint sand every three to five years. The pavers themselves rarely fail; it’s the base and edges that give out first on our expansive clay soil.
Yes, in most cases we can remove the affected section, correct the base, re-level the pavers, and re-set the edge restraint without touching the rest of the driveway. A full tear-out is only necessary when the base failure extends across most of the driveway or the pavers are too far out of pattern to blend back in. Call (432) 302-8761 and we’ll tell you which situation you have after walking the site.

We stock the most common Delta tumbled paver profiles, edge restraints, and polymeric sand in our Dallas yard, and we can source the larger-format slab pavers within a few days through our hardscaping partners including Belgard, Unilock, and Techo-Bloc. If your Delta series is discontinued, we’ll bring color and dimension samples to your home so you can approve the match before any work begins.
