Sterling Kitchen Remodeling: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
If you have a Sterling kitchen and a component has failed or is wearing out, here’s what you need to know up front: we stock and install Sterling-compatible kitchen components across Dallas, and a full kitchen remodel with Sterling parts typically runs $14,000 to $45,000 depending on cabinet scope, countertop material, and how much plumbing or electrical work the job requires. Most owners discover a problem the same way: a drawer slide binds, a hinge sags, a faucet drips, or a cabinet face separates from the box after years of Texas humidity and daily use. The good news is that most of these failures are repairable without a full gut, and we can often match the part same-day from inventory on our trucks.
We’re an independent Dallas contractor, not affiliated with the Sterling brand itself. That means we’ll give you an honest read on whether to source OEM or go with a quality aftermarket equivalent, and we’ll install either one correctly.
Which Sterling Models This Applies To

Sterling has produced several kitchen product lines over the years, and compatibility matters more than people expect. The older Sterling kitchen faucet lines, including pull-down and side-spray models sold through big-box retailers in the 2000s and 2010s, use cartridge sizes that changed between production runs. A cartridge that fits a 2012 faucet won’t necessarily fit a 2018 faucet with the same exterior look. The easiest way to identify your exact part is to look under the sink or inside the cabinet on the back side of the faucet body. There’s usually a small engraved model number starting with a letter followed by four or five digits. Take a photo of it before you call anyone.
For cabinetry, Sterling made several semi-custom and stock lines where the door hinge bore pattern (the holes drilled for the hinges) differs between the Classic line and the later builder-grade line sold in Texas developments. That matters because swapping a hinge or a full door set isn’t always a one-for-one swap. We carry common aftermarket hinges with adjustable bore spacing that solve most of these mismatches without drilling new holes, and we stock OEM-style drawer slides for the Sterling slide-in cabinet series that was widely installed in Dallas homes built between 1998 and 2012. In our experience, aftermarket slides from a reputable hardware manufacturer actually outlast the original Sterling slides in Texas heat, because the nylon rollers hold up better to the dry air and temperature swings.

Signs Your Sterling Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Drawer slides that bind or drop on one side. The nylon roller inside the slide wears flat over time, especially in Dallas where low humidity makes plastic brittle. The drawer will still open but it drags, then one day it jumps the track entirely.
- Cabinet doors that no longer sit flush. The European-style hinges on Sterling cabinets have a small adjustment screw that eventually strips. If the door still sags after tightening, the hinge is done and needs replacement, not adjustment.
- Faucet drips from the base or spout. The internal cartridge seals harden and shrink after five to eight years of Dallas water conditions. A drip at the base means the o-ring under the handle is shot. A drip from the spout means the cartridge itself has failed.
- Visible delamination on cabinet doors or drawer fronts. Texas heat and humidity swings cause the laminate or thermofoil to lift at the edges, especially near the dishwasher or above the stove where steam and heat cycle constantly.
- Loose or rusted hinges on sink-base cabinets. The sink base takes the most abuse: moisture, cleaning chemicals, and repeated door slams. Rust on the hinge knuckle is the first visible sign the metal has been compromised and will fail soon.

Every quote we give in Dallas is a written price before any work starts. That number includes the parts, the labor, the trip, and cleanup. It does not suddenly grow on the final bill. If we find something unexpected while the job is underway, we stop and give you a written change before touching anything else. And the work itself is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something isn’t right within a year of completion, we come back and make it right at no cost to you.
DIY or Call Us?
Replacing a faucet cartridge or a cabinet hinge is a job a patient homeowner can do with the right tools and the right part number. The risk is ordering the wrong part. We’ve had more than a few Dallas customers buy a cartridge online that looked identical but was off by a millimeter, and then the faucet leaked worse than before. If you want to try it yourself, do the identification work first: find the model number, take photos, and match the part exactly.
What we do not recommend is pulling apart a Sterling pull-down faucet hose assembly yourself if you’re not familiar with the retraction mechanism. The spring-loaded weight inside can release suddenly, and the hose connection threads are easy to cross-thread in a tight space. If the job involves cabinet rail replacement, soffit work, or anything structural, let a contractor handle it. We’re happy to walk you through the identification over the phone. Call (432) 302-8761 and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a $20 DIY part or a job worth having us out for.
FAQs

Faucet cartridges and seals typically last five to eight years in Dallas water conditions before they start dripping. Cabinet hinges and drawer slides in Sterling cabinetry usually last ten to fifteen years with normal use, though homes with heavy daily use or high moisture near the sink will see failures sooner. Cabinet boxes themselves can last twenty years or more if the box hasn’t been exposed to repeated leaks.
A cabinet hinge can sometimes be repaired by replacing the stripped adjustment screw, but once the hinge body itself wears, replacement is the only real fix. Faucet cartridges are replaceable, not repairable. Drawer slides are replaceable. If you’re unsure which situation you have, call (432) 302-8761 and describe the symptom. We’ll give you a straight answer before you spend a dollar.
Most single-part replacements like a faucet, hinge set, or drawer slide take one to two hours on site. A cabinet door replacement or a section of countertop takes half a day. A full kitchen remodel ranges from three to eight weeks depending on scope. We’ll give you a written timeline with the written price, and we stick to it.
We stock common Sterling-compatible faucet cartridges, hinge sets, and drawer slides on our trucks because those are the parts Dallas homeowners need most often. For less common items, we can source them through our supplier network, typically within two to three business days. We also work with KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone materials when a project calls for something beyond the original Sterling spec.
If your Sterling kitchen needs attention, call (432) 302-8761. We’ll tell you who is coming, what it costs, and what happens if something goes wrong before we ever pick up a tool.
